For the first time, Micro Materials exhibited alongside Rtec Instruments on stand 308 at ICMCTF 2026 in San Diego.

Krish Narain and Vishal Khosla welcomed visitors to discuss the exciting prospects opening up by our joining forces, following the recent acquisition of Micro Materials by the San Jose-based Rtec group.

New projects are underway, including the versatile new SMT-2000 PiQ Nanoindenter from Rtec, which  featured strongly in discussions at the stand.  Similarly, coatings developers showed particular interest in the possibilities opened up by Micro Materials' spatially-distributed impact test technique, available on the NanoTest Vantage and NanoTest Xtreme instruments.

During the ICMCTF event, Prof Ben Beake of Micro Materials gave an invited talk on "Micro Impact testing to develop multilayer coating systems with Enhanced Durability Under Cyclic High-Stress" and also contributed to the short course led by Dr Esteban Broitman on the Nanomechanics and Tribology of Thin Film Coatings.
