Micro Materials have extended it’s unique high strain rate nano-impact test to the high load head, enabling Micro-scale impact testing.
The micro-impact technique allows a maximum impact load of ~ 7 N and an acceleration distance of up to 70 µm. This provides much higher impact energies compared to nano-impact. This is particularly useful for coatings that are too hard or thick for the nano-impact technique.
