New tech note added: Multi-scale mechanical property mapping

Multi-scale mechanical property mapping is proving a useful tool for studying the links between microstructure and mechanical properties in highly heterogeneous and multi-phase materials systems such as biomaterials and cementitious composites.

The mechanical property mapping capability of the NanoTest allows 10,000 indent grids to be performed across a 100 x 100 µm area.

The NanoTest approach to mechanical property mapping retains the full load-displacement curves for each indentation so they can be individually reviewed. The rate of data acquisition is optimised for high speed throughput without compromising data quality through dynamic artefacts or surface detection accuracy.

This technique is also fully compatible with environmental control options (high and low temperature, humidity etc).
